For inspiration, here are a few events we've worked on in Australia and around the world.

The 2023 World Pride was hosted by Sydney, Australia, with a huge variety of celebrations, artwork, and public space upgrades, including a unique installation at Newtown Pedestrian Tunnel. We worked with Sydney artist Kieran Hugues Butler to illuminate their vision as part of the reVITALise Rainbow Tunnels Project for Sydney WorldPride 2023.

The Transport for NSW Safer Cities Program reVITALise Inner West Tunnels project aims to revitalize pedestrian tunnels in Sydney's inner west with lighting and public art to help make people feel safer using these spaces. Managed by Cultural Capital, local LGBTIQA+ artists were commissioned to design creative installations, celebrating the Inner West community, enhancing the public space experience and sense of safety.

Kieran's work, 1,000 Kisses, is a text-based LED neon lighting installation made by Custom Neon. Kieran explains:

'It is a poetic meditation on expressions of queer love and intimacy from my trans-enby-ace lived experiences of touch, proximity, presence. It's about the rush of these feelings, the spike in serotonin followed by the come down afterwards.'

We worked with the event planners of the Melbourne Royal Show to design and manufacture outdoor neon signs. As it's an annual event, the signs had to be made for easy installation, dismantling, and storage, ready for use the next year. We made each of the large 3.5m x 3.5m signs in 6 separate pieces to ensure safe transport and handling.

The Melbourne Flower Show is the largest flower and garden show in the Southern Hemisphere. Each year the event offers breathtaking floral displays and spectacular Show Gardens. Akas Landscape Architecture and NRTH Landscapes incorporated two bespoke Custom Neon signs into their Show Garden, using them to draw attention to an important message.

Akas Landscapes describes their entry: ' This display creates a dialogue of what tomorrow could hold, the corner of a house sinks into water symbolizing the collapse of societal order driven by climate change and sea level rise. A neon sign reads 'coming soon' on its roof, a timely reminder of the fragility of our landscape today. 2.6 BILLION M2 is the amount of deforestation which occurred during the (5 days) of the garden show = 1 football field per second deforested.'

We worked with the event organizers for the 2022 MLS All-Star Game in Minnesota, providing large LED neon waterproof signs that were installed above the food trucks on the Great Lawn at Allianz Field.

Custom Neon created directional signage for the 26th annual Major League Soccer All-Star Game, lighting up the fairground atmosphere in the fan zone with a glorious neon glow. Each sign was made to an IP67 waterproof standard using dark red LED neon fully encased in clear acrylic.

The events agency, Stagestruck, organized a range of public-facing activations for the well-known UK retail brand Marks and Spencer, including a pop-up wine bar at the multi-day Big Feastival in the Cotswolds.

The bespoke 12.3m container wine bar, complete with rooftop seating, offered epic views, delicious drinks, and huge branded hashtag signs made by Custom Neon.

Using our state-of-the-art IP67 waterproof-rated product, we created a range of LED neon signs and animated neon art to light up this downtown entertainment district during the annual White Night festival. The outdoor signage included innovative streetscape lighting, illuminated art on buildings, animated pedestrian level artwork and 3D neon heart "lamps".

Footscray Night Market is Melbourne's own food market, bringing world-class cuisines, entertainment, and music for locals to indulge in weekly! Every Friday night comes to life at Footscray with luminous LED neon lights.

Custom Neon turned this community market's logo into a stunning LED neon sign. Suspended from a metal archway at the entrance, our gorgeous cotton candy pink and tropical blue shades make this sign stand out and light up the night in bright neon colours!
